@filmhiveco is thrilled to welcome our newest mentor, Nicholas Matthews. Born in the American South and now based in Los Angeles, Matthews is a renowned cinematographer with an impressive body of work.
His recent projects include photographing Lionsgate's "SAW X," which garnered the franchise's best reviews according to The Hollywood Reporter, and featuring Tobin Bell. He also lensed the southern crime thriller "MOB LAND," starring John Travolta and Stephen Dorff, LD Entertainment's "BONE LAKE," an erotic horror thriller, and the Shudder film "SPOONFUL OF SUGAR," which was featured at Fantastic Fest 2022.
Matthews' career highlights his versatility across genres, having collaborated with horror legends such as Dan Myrick, the director and writer of the "Blair Witch Project," and Ted Raimi of "Evil Dead 2" fame in the film "Red Light," which premiered at the prestigious Sitges horror festival.
Beyond film, Matthews has crafted music videos for icons like Ice Cube and Rise Against and directed award-winning commercials for major brands like Nike and Specialized Bikes. His diverse and expansive experience ensures that he brings a rich palette of knowledge and skills to the filmhive community.
